Sima Chengzhen was the author of the very influential Tang era work "Neiguan jing" on Taoist Inner Observation (Meditation). I wanted to create images dealing with the great tradition of Chinese meditation. – I would like to thank following scholars of Chinese thought and religion: Livia Kohn, Isabelle Robinet, Kristofer Schipper, Charles Luk (Lu K'uan Yü), Master Zhang Xiao Ping and Fabrizio Pregadio. Their books/lessons on Chinese Taoist Meditation, Longevity Techniques and Inner Alchemy inspired me. "Monk Meditating (Sima Chengzhen)" This work of art is one-of-a-kind! It was conceived as a unique piece. Edition: 1/1 Digital ink painting on paper. Inkjet print, 100cm x 100cm. Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta paper 315 gsm with archival inks to ensure the quality and longevity of the print. Personally signed and titled by the artist in pencil on the reverse of the print. Shipped well protected in a sturdy tube.
