A diptych of two rather discrete works on wooden coreboard reciprocally spinning out their stories: The work is inspired by a detail of my neighbor’s garden, featuring a small bronze of a frog contemplating by a koi carp pond (you may find quite a non-figurative notation of it in the work itself, see bottom left). From there on I developed the scene towards a floating real-world life (diptych left, or “Frog Kings Lifeworld”) and an underwater fantasy (diptych right, or “Golden Ball Underwater”). Note that with the choice of the color red for “gold” the author follows the ways of his ancient Greek colleagues:) The two parts of the diptych act as quite strong singularities indeed. A placement in some sort opposition to each other, a looser arrangement in one room, or an even more distant solution, like at two places of lovers or friends, somehow follow their creator’s intentions. Frog King’s Lifeworld’s width is approx. 48,5 cm, it’s counterpart Golden Ball Underwater is about a cm narrower. The spacing proposed here is 4 cm, feel free to finally determine it in situ. Special are the artwork’s thickness of only ½ inch and the applied inlay hangers, by what an elegant hanging without spacing to the wall becomes possible.

Germany
Christian Kabuß is an internationally established German artist and musician. He studied Medicine at the University of Rostock, then went on to Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee, Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia and Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design Budapest to practice Fine Art. The artistic language within his paintings is deeply linked to a phenomenological approach to bodiliness, the freedom of subconscious artistic creation, and the theoretical and practical considerations of Design. Kabuß has exhibited in Germany and abroad. His works are present in regional, national and international collections. It is his aim to work as honest as possible, and he tends towards imagery, which is embedded in Lebenswelt, and sound. As a pianist, he performs small intimate concerts. His music is soft, sometimes freely improvised and portrays a sense of a parallel-world. Exhibitions in Italy, Sweden, Germany, China, and Japan.
