Description: The Ouroboros is the snake that devours its own tail, forming a circle. It symbolizes concepts such as completion, creative force, perfection and totality. It expresses ideas of movement, continuity, Nature, and the infinite cycle of renewal and life. The work speaks of molecular structural relations, but also refers to the symbiosis of genesis and detritus. Conceptually, the work is concerned with the interconnectedness of thought process and the physical universe. Time is a continuing event within which energy, motion and momentum are created. ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I am pursuing a multi-faceted idea inspired by the layering of histories, and by erosions through time. The resulting works do not simulate history, but reflect trace elements or imprints of historical evidence left by time's passage.
The transience of time seen through rhythmic movement and revealed through the slicing and phrasing of space are recurring concepts throughout my body of work.
