This artwork is one that I made about 12 years ago. I have enjoyed it for so long now I think it is time for someone else to enjoy the beauty and simplicity of this painting. I am old fellow and the inspiration for this piece came from the large sandstone cuttings of the new Highway near the Hawksbury river bridge, Central Coast NSW in the 1970's. The sandstone cuttings then were high, sharp and clean and all different colors. Maybe not as spectacular as my painting, but you get the idea. The base for the painting is textured and is symbolic of the layers of history found in the rock cuttings. The colors are a reflection of the past time eons ago. With good lighting this painting / sculpture shows an extra depth in the shadow lines and curves. On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushion to protect your walls. This painting will be shipped in a crate for your protection.
